"Wild Burro of Riverside County"
My husband Joe and I have a favorite Vegan Chinese restaurant in San Bernardino, CA that we like to go to. One particular occasion which happened to be Valentine's Day, we drove the back way from our house in Romoland, up through Reche Canyon.
Joe had been there before and heard that there were wild burros living in the hills. We didn't see any the first time, but in subsequent drives, we were able to a good view and get close to a number of animals. I took pictures, one of which I turned into this sweet-faced, graphite portrait.
"Wild Burro" won first place in Hemet Valley Art Association gallery first level Bronze category in September, 2019.
